EXHIBIT: Illustrating Illustration, 1733-1930 | On Drawing | On Printing
by Jessica Duffin Wolfe
INTRODUCTION
This exhibit of books that illustrate illustration attempts to turn the eye of the medium on itself.
In two display cases, On Drawing, and On Printing, the exhibit traces a perspective on illustration through the development and modernization of mass visual culture between 1733 and 1930.
Drawing items from the rare-book collection of the Robertson Davies Library, Illustrating Illustration, 1733-1930 accompanies the Graduate-Student Colloquium of the Program in Book History and Print Culture held at Massey College on February 12, 2011.
